MODULAR ALPHABET

The modular typography bases the design of the typeface on the definition of a limited series of basic geometric elements from which all the typefaces of the alphabet can be constructed. This philosophy sees the first lights at the Bauhaus with Albert Bayer and Josef Albers and is based on the intention of freeing the typeface from all those forms of decoration that are not useful for legibility. The need to reduce to a minimum the information necessary for reading also leads to the concept of "monoalphabet" made up of only one sign for letter without distinction between uppercase and lowercase.
